hi, 6 week back i had a freak fall while walking in my parking lot, i twisted my leg and fell on my left twisted leg, the ambulance had to pick me and i was told i have a spiral fracture between my knee & ankle and a crack below the knee. I had a surgery after 2 days for the swelling to subside with a titanium plate and 8 screws, no cast, Dr. asked to move my leg from the second day. Now i can twist my ankle bend my knee 90% normaly. My question is after 6 weeks the x ray looks exactly same or the bones have bigger gap from the x ray taken after the surgery. Is this normal? i have been told no load bearing for another 6 weeks untill the next x ray is taken. How long would it take for the bones to unite, me to start walking noraly.

Nothing was done to the Fibula, its not does not look its alligned, the Dr. told me he is very happy with the X ray and nothing to worry, but i was some how not convinced. I have attached the x ray taken 6 weeks before and after. Kindly advise

    Binojtc,

Your fixation is fine. Forget about fibula. It is a usual practice to leave fibula untouched and you should not worry about it. You are right in one sense that your xrays even after six weeks apart look almost same. But that also happens. Give it six more weeks and keep the limb off the ground as advised.

We would see how does it behave after 6 weeks.

All the best an get well soon. Do keep us posted about your health.
